Dr Sohom Das

Dr Sohom Das (MBChB, BSc, MSc, MRCPsych) is an NHS doctor, Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist and YouTuber, presenter and author who lives and works in London.   Sohom has also made several media appearances on radio and television programmes including guesting on numerous podcasts from comedy to true crime.  He has even done several dozen stand-up gigs.

Sohom’s YouTube channel, named ‘A Psych for Sore Minds’, is  where he dissects a variety of mental health issues and offers his own professional opinions. Some episodes are related to offending, such as diagnosing and working with psychopaths, prisoners faking mental illness and his personal analysis of high-profile mentally ill criminals (such as Jimmy Savile). Other videos address more common psychiatric issues, such as exploring individual diagnoses, the process of being sectioned, life on a psychiatric unit.

Sohom has written a book, In Two Minds: Stories of Murder, Justice and Recovery from a Forensic Psychiatrist. This is a shocking, eye-opening and grimly fascinating collection of true stories, patients and cases that have characterised a career spent treating mentally disordered offenders
