Ben Shires

Ben Shires is an irrepressible broadcaster, live event host and Yorkshireman.

Along with a passion for vintage fashion, Ben’s lifelong love for the past has seen him work with many high profile history and heritage organizations, including hosting English Heritage’s celebrated ‘History At Home’ series, collaborating extensively with Imperial War Museums and fronting exhibition guides for the National Football Museum. A knowledgeable and noted metal detectorist, he also conceived and hosted the family detecting show Dig Detectives for Sky Kids in 2022.

Ben’s quick humour and quirky style has been in high demand on television over the past decade, and he has appeared regularly on programmes as diverse as Match of the Day, Celebrity Mastermind and Blue Peter.

He is best known as the presenter of CBBC’s BAFTA-nominated Officially Amazing, Match of the Day Kickabout and Sky Kids’ Dig Detectives.

Elsewhere, Ben is a sought after live host, having fronted numerous events for BAFTA, the Premier League and the BBC, including awards shows, major festivals and royal events. He lives in York with his wife, son and the world’s most enviable collection of vintage tank tops.”
